10, 2001 BALTIMORE, MD -- Freshman outside hitter Laura Greenback (Riva, MD/South River) played one of the best matches of her collegiate career, but the Washington College volleyball team was swept in three straight games tonight by Johns Hopkins. The Blue Jays (12-12 overall, 3-2 Centennial Conference) posted 30-18, 30-18, and 30-23 wins over the Shorewomen (0-21, 0-5). Greenback finished with a career-high 17 kills in the match, along with three service aces and six digs. Junior middle hitter Katie Froning (Kennett Square, PA/Kennett), among the conference leaders in blocks per game, recorded a team-high four solo blocks. Junior setter Amy Milauskas (Ellicott City, MD/Seton Keough) tallied 27 assists. The Shorewomen return to action Saturday with a Centennial Conference tri-match. Washington, along with Muhlenberg, will travel to host Gettysburg for the 1:00 p.m. event. |
