19, 2001 CHESTERTOWN, MD -- The Washington College volleyball team dropped a 30-17, 30-13, 30-23 home match to Hood tonight at Cain Gym. The Shorewomen (0-13) open Centennial Conference play Friday evening with a tri-match at Haverford which also includes Franklin & Marshall. Washington took a couple of big leads during the match. The Shorewomen went up 5-0 in the first game before falling behind. In the third game, WC built an 18-10 lead before Hood (6-8) scored 18 of the next 21 points to turn the tide. Freshman outside hitter Laura Greenback and junior middle hitter Katie Froning (Kennett Square, PA/Kennett) each tallied a match-high eight kills for the Shorewomen. Junior setter Amy Milauskas (Ellicott City, MD/Seton Keough) contributed 18 assists. |
