Shorewomen Drop Home Opener
Gettysburg Battlefield Classic Next

CHESTERTOWN, MD -- The Washington College volleyball team dropped its home opener this evening, 3-0, to Goucher College. The Gophers (2-1) defeated the Shorewomen (0-6), 30-19, 30-6, 30-13. Next up for the Shorewomen is this weekend's trip to Gettysburg College's Battlefield Classic, to be played Friday and Saturday.

In tonight's match, WC sophomore outside hitter Theresa Pyzik (Baltimore, MD/Mercy) recorded a team-high eight digs, while freshman outside hitter Laura Greenback (Riva, MD/South River) led the Shorewomen with four kills.

Leading the way for Goucher was junior outside hitter Laura Maggio (Island Park, NY/West Hempstead), who served 14 consecuitve points during the second game.
