WC Pushes Delaware Valley to
Five Games at Battlefield Classic

GETTYSBURG, PA -- The Washington College volleyball team played four matches at the Gettysburg College Battlefield Classic held yesterday and today. The Shorewomen (0-10) dropped all four of their matches but pushed Delaware Valley to the brink in a thrilling 30-9, 25-30, 30-18, 27-30, 15-11 match this morning.

York (PA) 3, Washington College 0 (30-13, 30-17, 30-21)
Junior defensive specialist Jen Jump (Brooklyn Park, MD/North County) made 10 digs in the Shorewomen's first match of the weekend. Junior setter Amy Milauskas (Ellicott City, MD/Seton Keough) added 14 assists. WC MATCH STATS

Richard Stockton 3, Washington College 0 (30-22, 30-18, 30-22)
Jump and sophomore outside hitter Lindsay Tegeler (Baltimore, MD/Mt. Carmel) each recorded 11 digs, while Milauskas added 17 assists against Richard Stockton. WC MATCH STATS

Delaware Valley 3, Washington College 2 (30-9, 25-30, 30-18, 27-30, 15-11)
Milauskas had a solid overall effort in the Shorewomen's most competitive match of the weekend. She finished with 19 assists, 18 digs, and three aces. Junior middle hitter Beka Beckett (Cordova, AK/Cordova) served four aces of her own and tallied seven kills. Freshman outside hitter Laura Greenback (Riva, MD/South River) also finished with seven kills. Beckett, Greenback, and Jump each wound up with 13 digs. WC MATCH STATS

Hood 3, Washington College 0 (30-17, 30-28, 30-25)
Greenback drove home seven kills for the second consecutive match and served three aces. Junior middle hitter Katie Froning (Kennett Square, PA/Kennett) made three solo blocks and assisted on another while ringing up 10 digs. Jump finished with a team-high 11 digs against the Blazers. The Shorewomen return to action next Saturday at the Richard Stockton Tournament.
