28, 2008 FREDERICKSBURG, VA -- Freshmen Brittany Marshall (Dagsboro, DE/Worcester Prep, MD) and Jordan Finnegan (Wilmington, DE/Archmere Academy) represented the Washington College women's tennis team this weekend at the ITA Southeast Regionals hosted by Mary Washington. Both players advanced to the second round in championship singles before falling to the top two seeded players. Marshall defeated Ellen Berlinghof of Johns Hopkins, 6-3, 4-6, 1-0 (13-11) in the first round of championship singles before losing to top-seeded Katie Tabb of Washington and Lee, 6-2, 9-7, in the second round. Finnegan beat Karen Ginsburg of Bryn Mawr, 6-0, 6-0, in the first round and fell to second-seeded Lauren Caire of Washington and Lee, 6-1, 6-1, in the second round. Marshall and Finnegan lost in the first round of championship doubles to third-seeded Jennifer Chui and Kelly Hart of Carnegie Mellon, 8-1. |
