23, 2005 COLLEGEVILLE, PA -- The Washington College women's tennis team improved to 5-3 overall and 2-0 in Centennial Conference play with a 7-2 win over host Ursinus College this evening in Collegeville, PA. In doubles, freshman Blake Leeser (Irvington, NY/Irvington) and junior Beth Foster (Lothian, MD/St. Mary's) posted an 8-3 win at No. 1, while freshman Allison Daciek (Severna Park, MD/Severna Park) and freshman Ryoko Sawada (Kushiro, Japan/Kushiro Koryo) recorded an 8-4 win at No. 2. Daciek was a 6-4, 6-0 winner at No. 1 singles. Leeser served four aces in one game and three in another en route to a 6-2, 6-1, win at No. 2. Foster rolled to a 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 3. Sawada added an 8-6 win at No. 5, while junior Lyndsey Beidle (Linthicum, MD/North County) was a 9-7 winner at No. 6. The Shorewomen return to action Tuesday with a 2:30 p.m. Centennial Conference match at Johns Hopkins. Match Results |
