April 16, 2005 LANCASTER, PA -- Host Franklin & Marshall College, ranked ninth in the Atlantic South region, defeated visiting Washington College, ranked 15th in the Atlantic South, 8-1, in a Centennial Conference women's tennis match this afternoon in Lancaster, PA. The Diplomats won all three doubles matches and five of the six singles matches. Freshman Allison Daciek (Severna Park, MD/Severna Park) posted the Shorewomen's lone win in the match, defeating Katie Gaskins, 6-2, 7-5, at No. 1 singles. "We lost a three and one-half hour, 8-1 match. We played well and competed well, but F&M was just better than us on the day," remarked Washington head coach Constantine Ananiadis. The Shorewomen (7-7 overall, 4-3 Centennial) return to action Tuesday with a 3:30 p.m. Centennial Conference home match against Bryn Mawr. Match Results |
