23, 2004 CHESTERTOWN, MD -- The Washington College women's tennis team fell to 4-3 overall and 1-1 in Centennial Conference play this season with a 6-3 loss to visiting Johns Hopkins this afternoon. Seniors Ne'ko Browder (Bronx, NY/Herbert H. Lehman) and Shoko Nakamura (Osaka, Japan/Osaka Jogakuin) won at the top two spots in singles for Washington. Browder won her singles match, 6-0, 6-2 at No. 1 singles. Nakamura posted a 6-4, 6-0 victory at No. 2. Washington's other point came at No. 1 doubles, where Browder and senior Linda Hooks (Woodstown, NJ/Woodstown) were winners by an 8-1 final. The Shorewomen return to action Saturday with a 12:00 p.m. conference match at Gettysburg.
