24, 2003 LANCASTER, PA -- The Washington College women's tennis team won its final regular season dual match this afternoon, defeating host Franklin & Marshall, 7-2, to improve to 11-4 overall and 9-1 in the Centennial Conference. In doubles, juniors Ne'ko Browder (Bronx, NY/Herbert H. Lehman) and Shoko Nakamura (Osaka, Japan/Osaka Jogakuin) were 8-2 winners at No. 1, while senior Devon Hufnal (Dover, DE/Dover) and junior Linda Hooks (Woodstown, NJ/Woodstown) won 8-3 at No. 2 and sophomore Samantha Halpin (Red Lion, PA/Red Lion) and junior Christina Vouros (Salisbury, MD/Worcester Prep) won 8-3 at No. 3. In singles, Browder posted a 6-4, 6-2 win at No. 1, Nakamura won 6-2, 6-0 at No. 2, and Hufnal breezed to a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 3. Vouros won 6-4, 6-1 at No. 5 to round out the singles wins for WC. The Shorewomen will compete this weekend at the Centennial Conference Singles and Doubles Championships at Haverford and Bryn Mawr beginning tomorrow.
