January 16, 2010 ELIZABETHTOWN, PA - Junior Rachel Glasser (Silver Spring, MD/Springbrook), senior Amy Smith (Phoenixville, PA/Phoenixville Area), and sophomore Mary Stroman (Bala Cynwyd, PA) won two individual events each as the Washington College women's swim team extended its non-conference dual-meet win streak to 57 with a 120-80 win over host Elizabethtown this afternoon. Glasser won the 200 individual medley in 2:19.29 and the 100 butterfly in 1:01.96 for the Shorewomen (5-2). Smith was first in the 200 freestyle (2:11.32) and the 100 backstroke (1:07.31), while Stroman placed first in the 1000 freestyle (11:49.13) and the 100 freestyle (59.58). Sophomore Morgan Phillips (Charlottesville, VA/Albemarle) won the 100 freestyle in 59.58. Smith, freshman Melanie Craig (Newtown, PA/Council Rock), freshman Alix Batesko (Mountain Lakes, NJ/Mountain Lakes), and Phillips won the 200 medley relay. No time was available for that event due to a timing error. Phillips was also second in the 50 freestyle in 27.29. Sophomore Ellen Liebenow (Sellersville, PA/Pennridge) placed second in the 200 freestyle 2:15.08, freshman Emma Jackovitz (Bel Air, MD/Bel Air) was second in the 200 individual medley in 2:29.97, Craig took second in the 100 butterfly in 1:06.92, and freshman Darcy Zink (Baltimore, MD/Towson) placed second in the 100 backstroke in 1:08.10. Swimming as an exhibition entrant, Craig posted the fastest time in the 200 breaststroke at 1:13.63. Glasser, sophomore Laura Risell (Collegeville, PA/Perkiomen Valley), sophomore Cassie Peart (Green Lane, PA/Upper Perkiomen), and Stroman had the fastest time in the 200 freestyle at 1:50.39, also as an exhibition. The Shorewomen return to action one week from today with a 1:00 p.m. Centennial Conference home meet against Dickinson.
