Shorewomen Dunk Seahawks, 125-80
Glasser Places First in Three Individual Events

CHESTERTOWN, MD - Freshman Rachel Glasser (Silver Spring, MD/Springbrook) won three individual events for the second straight meet and senior Megan Morse (Easton, MD/Sts. Peter & Paul) added a pair of individual first-place finishes as host Washington College ran its non-conference winning streak to 42 meets with a 125-80 win over visiting St. Mary's (MD) College in women's swimming action this afternoon at Casey Swim Center. The Shorewomen improved to 2-1 with the win, while the Seahawks fell to 1-2 with the loss.

Glasser won the 1000 freestyle in a Washington College season-best time of 10:42.35, the 200 freestyle in a WC season-best time of 1:58.26, and the 500 freestyle in 5:17.68. Morse won the 200 individual medley in a WC season-best time of 2:15.08 to become the Shorewomen's fourth-fastest swimmer ever in that event. Morse also won the 100 freestyle in a WC season-best time of 54.57.

Junior Andrea Cole (Felton, DE/Caesar Rodney) recorded the Shorewomen's other individual first-place finish, winning the 100 breaststroke in 1:11.77. Morse, sophomore Cailin Eisele (Egg Harbor Township, NJ/Egg Harbor Township), junior Anna Green (St. Louis, MO/Principia), and sophomore Kathy Gerhart (Phoenixville, PA/Phoenixville Area) won the 200 freestyle relay in a WC season-best time of 1:44.95.

Gerhart took second in two individual events, placing second in the 100 butterfly in a WC season-best time of 1:01.53 and second in the 50 freestyle in 25.89. Sophomore Amy Smith (Phoenixville, PA/Phoenixville Area) was second in the 100 backstroke in 1:04.10, while junior Cara Choplin (West Deptford, NJ/Bishop Eustace) was second in the 500 freestyle in 5:42.47.

The Shorewomen return to action one week from today with a 1:00 p.m. non-conference meet at Elizabethtown.
