2008 OXFORD, OH - Washington College senior Megan Morse (Easton, MD/Sts. Peter & Paul) and freshman Rachel Glasser (Silver Spring, MD/Springbrook) each earned All-America honorable mention status at the NCAA Division III Women's Swimming & Diving Championships held Thursday, Friday, and today in Oxford, OH. Morse achieved the honor in the 200 freestyle, while Glasser did it in the 200 butterfly. On Thursday, the first day of the championships, both Glasser and Morse competed in the 500 freestyle and swam personal-best times. Glasser was 20th of 44 swimmers in 5:05.78, missing the finals by four places, while Morse was 39th in 5:12.41. On Friday, Morse swam a personal-best 1:54.35 in the 200 freestyle to place 14th of 38 swimmers in the preliminaries, earning a spot in the finals and guaranteeing herself All-America honorable mention status. In the finals, she placed 16th in 1:55.21. Glasser earned her All-America honorable mention status in the 200 butterfly on Saturday by swimming a personal-best 2:07.66 to finish 11th of 25 swimmers in the preliminaries of the event. In the finals, she swam a 2:08.09 to place 12th. In the timed finals of the 1650 freestyle, Glasser was 23rd of 24 swimmers in 18:06.64. Also on Saturday, Morse finished 34th of 40 swimmers in the preliminaries of the 100 freestyle in a time of 53.97.
