17, 2007 ELIZABETHTOWN, PA - The Washington College women's swim team rolled to a 151.5-53.5 non-conference win at host Elizabethtown this afternoon. The victory was the 250th head coaching win for Washington's Kim Lessard. Senior Megan Morse (Easton, MD/Sts. Peter & Paul) won two individual events for the Shorewomen (3-1) in the win. Morse won the 200 freestyle in 2:01.74 and the 500 freestyle in 5:26.85. Freshman Rachel Glasser (Silver Spring, MD/Springbrook) became the Shorewomen's sixth-fastest swimmer ever in the 100 butterfly by winning the event in a WC season-best time of 1:00.83. Other individual first-place finishes were turned in by junior Anna Green (St. Louis, MO/Principia) in the 1000 freestyle (11:39.23), freshman Laura Lazenby (Falmouth, ME/Falmouth) in the 400 individual medley (5:08.86), sophomore Kathy Gerhart (Phoenixville, PA/Phoenixville Area) in the 100 freestyle (57.57), sophomore Amy Smith (Phoenixville, PA/Phoenixville Area) in the 100 backstroke (1:05.63), and junior Andrea Cole (Felton, DE/Caesar Rodney) in the 100 breaststroke (1:13.95). Smith, sophomore Liz Thomas (Towson, MD/Notre Dam Prep), sophomore Cailin Eisele (Egg Harbor Township, NJ/Egg Harbor Township), and Glasser won the 200 medley relay in 1:59.09. Glasser, Morse, Gerhart, and Eisele won the 200 freestyle relay in 1:45.13. Thomas and senior Nicole Ludwig (Brielle, NJ/Manasquan) tied for second in the 100 breaststroke at 1:15.56. Other individual second-place finishes were turned in by senior Nicole Stanton (Columbia, MD/Hammond) in the 1000 freestyle (11:39.58), Gerhart in the 200 freestyle (2:05.38), Eisele in the 50 freestyle (27.25), junior Brittany Siburt (Stevensville, MD/Kent Island) in the 400 individual medley (5:12.36), junior Rebecca Lee (Haddonfield, NJ/Haddonfield) in the 100 butterfly (1:09.18), and junior Cara Choplin (West Deptford, NJ/Bishop Eustace) in the 500 freestyle (5:46.17). Lessard entered the day with 149 wins as head coach of Washington's women's swim team and 100 as head coach of the school's men's swim team. She picked up her 251st overall win minutes after recording her 250th as the Shoremen wrapped up a 128-69 victory over Elizabethtown in the men's portion of today's meet. The Shorewomen return to action November 27th with a 6:00 p.m. non-conference meet at Widener.
