Shorewomen Swamp Owls, 142-55
Gerhart, Morse Win Two Individual Events

BRYN MAWR , PA - Visiting Washington College improved to 5-1 overall and 1-1 in Centennial Conference action with a 142-55 win over host Bryn Mawr this afternoon in a women's swimming meet in Bryn Mawr, PA. Senior Megan Morse (Easton, MD/Sts. Peter & Paul) and sophomore Kathy Gerhart (Phoenixville, PA/Phoenixville Area) each won two individual events for the Shorewomen.

Morse won the 200 freestyle in a WC season-best time of 1:58.11 and the 500 freestyle in 5:19.06, while Gerhart won the 100 freestyle in 57.35 and the 200 individual medley in 2:21.33. Freshman Laura Lazenby (Falmouth, ME/Falmouth) won the 1000 freestyle in 11:29.09, sophomore Cailin Eisele (Egg Harbor Township, NJ/Egg Harbor Township) won the 50 freestyle in 27.62, freshman Rachel Glasser (Silver Spring, MD/Springbrook) took the 100 butterfly in 1:01.01, junior Kimber Shoemaker (Berwyn, PA/Conestoga) won the 100 backstroke in 1:06.33, and sophomore Liz Thomas (Towson, MD/Notre Dam Prep) finished first in the 100 backstroke in 1:12.31.

Sophomore Amy Smith (Phoenixville, PA/Phoenixville Area), Thomas, Glasser, and Eisele won the 200 medley relay in 1:59.81.

Thomas added a second-place finish in the 200 individual medley (2:27.96), while Eisele was second in the 100 butterfly (1:05.81), senior Samantha Blau (Ijamsville, MD/Urbana) was second in the 50 freestyle (29.24), and junior Andrea Cole (Felton, DE/Caesar Rodney) finished second in the 100 breaststroke (1:13.42).

Swimming as an exhibition, Smith, Glasser, senior Nicole Stanton (Columbia, MD/Hammond), and Morse, posted the fastest time of the 800 freestyle relay, finishing in 8:19.97.

The Shorewomen return to action one week from today with a 1:00 p.m. Centennial Conference home meet against Franklin & Marshall.
