In the opener, Widener took a 1-0 lead in the top of the third when Kim Dougherty scored on a throwing error. The score stayed that way until the top of the fifth when the Pride scored four unearned runs to take a 5-0 lead. The inning was highlighted by Mallory Meyer's two-run home run to left field. The four run inning was capped by an RBI double off the bat of Steph Connolly. The Pride added three more runs in the sixth to provide the final margin. Meyer made it 7-0 with her second home run of the game and Widener made it 8-0 on a RBI double off the bat of Stephanie Caulford.
