Bears Sweep Twin Bill Against WC
Pyzik Goes Two-for-Two in Game One

COLLEGEVILLE, PA -- Host Ursinus College scored a pair of two-run victories over visiting Washington College in Centennial Conference softball action this afternoon in Collegeville, PA. The Bears (16-4-1, 4-1 Centennial) won game one, 3-1, and took game two, 4-2.

Ursinus jumped out to a 3-0 lead after two innings in the opener. The Shorewomen got on the board in the top of the fourth inning when sophomore Laura Mozzer (Tolland, CT/Tolland) singled and later scored on an RBI single by senior Theresa Pyzik (Baltimore, MD/Mercy). Pyzik was two-for-two with a walk at the plate in the game. Sophomore Diane Green (Milford, DE/Milford) struck out three batters and went the distance on the mound.

The Bears scored one run each in the third, fourth, five, and sixth innings of game two. Senior Natalie Liccketto (Barrington, NJ/Haddon Heights) led off the top of the seventh for the Shorewomen with a triple and scored on an RBI single by freshman Amelia Barnard (Frederick, MD/Frederick). Green drove in freshman Tara Harrigan (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert) later in the inning to account for the Shorewomen's other run. Mozzer doubled earlier in game two.

The Shorewomen (6-13-1, 1-5) will host Muhlenberg Friday in a 3:00 p.m. Centennial Conference double-header.
