Shorewomen Swept by King's
Braverman Goes Four-for-Six

FT. PIERCE, FL -- The Washington College softball team dropped a pair of games to King's College in a non-conference double-header this afternoon in Ft. Pierce, FL. King's won game one, 12-4, in five innings, and then posted a 6-3 victory in game two.

Sophomore Diane Green (Milford, DE/Milford) went two-for-three in the first game with two doubles, an RBI, and a run scored. Freshman Tara Harrigan (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert) doubled, drove in two runs, and scored a run. Junior Andrea Braverman (Yorktown Heights, NY/Yorktown) was two-for-three at the plate, while senior Theresa Pyzik (Baltimore, MD/Mercy) singled and drove in a run.

In game two, Braverman again went two-for-three at the plate. Junior Laura Scimeca (Cream Ridge, NJ/Allentown) drove in a run, while freshman Meg Lucas (Pasadena, MD/Northeast) singled twice and scored a run.

King's has won the last four MAC Freedom Conference Championships.

The Shorewomen are back in action tomorrow when they face Northwestern (MN) at 10:00 a.m. in Ft. Pierce.
