12, 2003 ALLENTOWN, PA -- The Washington College softball team slipped to 11-7 overall and 2-2 in Centennial Conference play with a pair of losses at Muhlenberg College this afternoon. Muhlenberg won the first game, 9-1, and the second game 7-2. Muhlenberg used a six-run fifth inning to take command in game one. Sophomore Laura Scimeca (Cream Ridge, NJ/Allentown) tripled and scored Washington's only run when senior Christie Allebach (Telford, PA/Souderton Area) drove her in with an RBI double. In game two, Allebach went two-for-three with a double and an RBI, while Scimeca scored one run and drove in another. Freshman Laura Mozzer (Tolland, CT/Tolland) scored Washington's other run. Muhlenberg again used a big fifth inning to pull away in game two, plating five runs in that frame. The Shorewomen return to action tomorrow with a 1:00 p.m. double-header at McDaniel. |
