27, 2003 CHESTERTOWN, MD -- The Washington College softball team dropped both games of a Centennial Conference double-header this afternoon to visiting Gettysburg. The Shorewomen (14-16, 5-9 Centennial) lost the first game, 9-0, and the second, 6-2. Senior Alexis Stapanon (Lexington Park, MD/Great Mills) singled for Washington's only hit in game one. In game two, sophomore Laura Scimeca (Cream Ridge, NJ/Allentown) was two-for-four with a run scored. Stapanon and freshman Krista Dant (Elkton, MD/Bohemia Manor) each knocked in a run, while senior Christie Allebach (Telford, PA/Souderton Area) scored a run. The Shorewomen close out their season Tuesday with a 3:00 p.m. home double-header against Ursinus. |
