22, 2003 CHESTERTOWN, MD -- The Washington College softball team opened its home schedule for the 2003 season by splitting a double-header with Catholic this afternoon. The Shorewomen (7-3) lost the first game, 4-0, but bounced back to win the second, 9-4. In the second game, sophomore Andrea Braverman (Yorktown Heights, NY/Yorktown) went two-for-four with two RBI and two runs scored. Sophomore Laura Scimeca (Cream Ridge, NJ/Allentown) hit an inside-the-park home run and knocked in two runs, going two-for-four at the plate. Freshman Laura Mozzer (Tolland, CT/Tolland) was two-for-four with two runs scored. Junior Natalie Liccketto (Barrington, NJ/Haddon Heights) went three-for-three at the plate with a run scored. Junior Fallon Dillon (Grasonville, MD/Queen Anne's County) picked up the win in game two, pitching the first six innings. Freshman Jessica Quarto (Bloomfield, NJ/Bloomfield) pitched a scoreless seventh inning Freshman Diane Green (Milford, DE/Milford) accounted for two of Washington's four hits in the first game. The Shorewomen are back in action Monday with a 2:45 p.m. double-header at Widener. |
