9, 2002 COLLEGEVILLE, PA -- The Washington College Shorewomen dropped a pair of Centennial Conference games to host Ursinus College this afternoon, 5-1 and 12-4. The losses dropped the Shorewomen to 7-12-1 overall and 3-7 in conference play. In the first game, junior Julie Bahus (Baltimore, MD/Archbishop Spalding) had a pair of hits for the Shorewomen. Junior Alexis Stapanon (Lexington, MD/Great Mills) scored WC's only run and had one base hit. In game two, the Shorewomen jumped out to a 4-0 lead after the top of the second inning, but it was all Ursinus after that. Freshman Andrea Braverman (Yorktown Heights, NY/Yorktown) knocked in a pair of runs, while senior outfielder Michelle Rodney (Rock Hall, MD/Kent County) and sophomore Fallon Dillon (Queen Anne's County) each knocked in one. Rodney finished the game with two hits, including a double. The Shorewomen are back in action tomorrow when they host Villa Julie at 3:00. |
