18, 2002 SALISBURY, MD -- The Washington College Shorewomen dropped a pair of games at 18th-ranked Salisbury this afternoon. The Sea Gulls won the first game, 8-0, and the second, 10-1. The Shorewomen dropped to 10-17-1 this season with the losses. Salisbury led the first game by just a 3-0 margin before the sixth inning, when the Sea Gulls tacked on five runs. Salisbury pitcher Katie Mullinix allowed just four hits in the game. In the second game, Salisbury grabbed a 5-0 lead before the Shorewomen got on the board in the sixth. Junior Christie Allebach (Telford, PA/Souderton Area) led off the inning with a double and later scored when the Sea Gulls threw to second base during a double steal attempt. The Sea Gulls scored five unearned runs in the bottom of the inning to put the game away. Sophomore catcher Theresa Pyzik (Baltimore, MD/Mercy) went two-for-three in the game for the Shorewomen. Senior pitcher Allison Weisbrod (Montville, NJ/Mount St. Dominic) also went two-for-three at the plate in her final collegiate start. Just three of the ten runs she surrendered were earned, as the Shorewomen committed six errors in the contest. The Shorewomen close out their season with a Centennial Conference home doubleheader against Dickinson Saturday at 1:00 p.m. |
