Carroll Named to All-Centennial
Sportsmanship Team

Six Washington College student-athletes have been named to the All-Centennial Conference Sportsmanship Team for spring sports. Each Centennial Conference member institution was permitted to nominate one student from each winter program who exemplifies the best in sportsmanship. Nominations were submitted by the athletic departments or head coaches. This is the first year of the All-Centennial Sportsmanship team, which was proposed by the conference's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). Senior Tricia Carroll (Owings Mills, MD/Owings Mills) represented the softball team.

Five Shorewomen Named to
Centennial Academic Honor Roll

Fifteen Washington College student-athletes have been named to the Centennial Conference's Academic Honor Roll for spring sports. To be named to the Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must be a sophomore, junior or senior; a starter or key reserve on his or her team; and carry at least a 3.40 cumulative grade-point average. The Washington softball team had five players named to the Honor Roll - senior pitcher Michelle Laque (Ocean Pines, MD/Stephen Decatur), senior outfielder/pitcher Tricia Carroll (Owings Mills, MD/Owings Mills), senior catcher Kim Proctor (Ferndale, MD/Institute of Notre Dame), junior first baseman/pitcher Emily Adams (Bethesda, MD/Bethesda-Chevy Chase), and sophomore outfielder Sarah Claypool (Bel Air, MD/Bel Air).

Four Shorewomen Named All-Centennial
Pastorino and Russell Named to First Team
Four Washington College softball players have been named to the All-Centennial Conference team in a vote conducted by the conference's coaches. Senior outfielder Irene Pastorino (Swarthmore, PA/Cardinal O'Hara) and senior second baseman Megan Russell (Federalsburg, MD/Seaford Christian (DE) garnered spots on the first team, junior pitcher/first baseman Emily Adams (Bethesda, MD/Bethesda-Chevy Chase) was named to the second team as a utility player, while senior outfielder Meg Travers (Huntingtown, MD/Calvert) earned honorable mention recognition. The four selections were the most since five Washington players were named to the all-conference team in 2005.
