Saints Spoil Shorewomen's Opener, 2-0

DOVER, DE -- Marymount University scored one goal in each half to top Washington College, 2-0, in the women's soccer opener for both teams this afternoon at the Wesley College Kick-Off Classic in Dover, DE.

Marymount's Sarah Kinser accounted for the only goal of the first half at the 8:26 mark. Rebecca Zimmerman made it 2-0 when she dribbled past a defender and booted in an unassisted tally at 49:34.

The Saints held a 12-4 advantage in shots in the game. Freshman goalkeeper Tori Ripple (Baltimore, MD/John Carroll) made four saves in the game for Washington. Marymount goalkeeper Carrie Schneider played the first half and made two saves, while Danielle Glavin made one save in the second half. Washington started eight freshmen in the game.

The Shorewomen conclude play in the Wesley College Kick-Off Classic tomorrow night when they face the host Wolverines at 7:00 p.m.
