#9 Blue Jays Blank Shorewomen, 4-0
Ripple Makes Eight Saves in Loss for Washington

BALTIMORE, MD -- Ninth-ranked host Johns Hopkins University scored three first-half goals en route to a 4-0 shutout of visiting Washington College in a Centennial Conference women's soccer game this afternoon in Baltimore. The Blue Jays improved to 5-0-2 with the win, while the Shorewomen slipped to 0-6 with the loss.

Molly Steele found Caitlin Moore at 8:43 to open the scoring for the Blue Jays. Steele then scored a goal of her own off an assist from Allie Zazzali at 18:07 to give Hopkins a 2-0 lead. Zazzali followed suit with a goal off a double assist from Steele and Natalie Held at 38:18 to make it 3-0 at the break.

The Blue Jays tacked on their fourth goal when Ava Scheininger scored at 55:48.

Hopkins held a 25-0 advantage in shots and a 13-0 advantage in corner kicks in the game. Washington freshman goalkeeper Tori Ripple (Baltimore, MD/John Carroll) made eight saves for the Shorewomen.

The Shorewomen open a four-game home-stand Wednesday with a 7:00 p.m. game against Trinity (DC).
