F&M Foils Shorewomen, 3-0
Ripple Makes Nine Saves in Loss

CHESTERTOWN, MD -- Visiting Franklin & Marshall topped host Washington College, 3-0, in a Centennial Conference women's soccer game this afternoon on Kibler Field at Roy Kirby, Jr. Stadium. The Diplomats improved to 5-2 overall and 1-1 in conference play with the win, while the Shorewomen fell to 1-7 and 0-2 with the loss.

Franklin & Marshall netted its first goal of the game when Amy Cawley sent a ball ahead of the defense to Shannon Summers, who gave the Diplomats a 1-0 lead at 32:22. Michelle Shea scored on a direct kick at 34:01 and Allison Deutsch made it 3-0 at 40:02 with a goal that just hit under the crossbar.

Freshman goalkeeper Tori Ripple (Baltimore, MD/John Carroll) made nine saves in the loss for Washington. Erin Roy made three stops for F&M in the win.

F&M held a 20-5 advantage in shots and a 5-1 edge in corner kicks in the contest.

The Shorewomen return to action Wednesday with an 8:00 p.m. Centennial Conference home game against Swarthmore.
