#11 Hopkins Handles WC, 9-0
Grier Makes 15 Saves in Loss

CHESTERTOWN, MD -- Eleventh-ranked Johns Hopkins scored seven first-half goals en route to a 9-0 Centennial Conference women's soccer victory over host Washington College tonight on Kibler Field at Roy Kirby, Jr. Stadium. The Blue Jays improved to 9-2 overall and 4-0 in conference play, while the Shorewomen slipped to 3-6-1 and 0-4.

Molly Steele and Kaitlin Giannetti led Hopkins with two goals and one assist each, while Jessie McKenzie and Nikkole Haines each tallied one goal and two assists. Chriss McCurdy, Francesca Peretti, and Kim Lane each scored one goal, while Lisa Irizarry and Natalie Held each added one assist.

Karen Guszkowski played the first 67:45 for the Blue Jays in goal, making three saves. Naomi Sell finished the game in goal and made one saves. Freshman goalkeeper Caroline Grier (Kennett Square, PA/Sanford School, DE) made a career-high 15 saves for the Shorewomen.

Johns Hopkins held a 42-4 advantage in shots and a 10-1 advantage in corner kicks in the game.

The Shorewomen return to action Saturday with a 2:30 p.m. Centennial Conference home game against Gettysburg.
