Diplomats Down Shorewomen, 3-0
Grier Makes Career-High 17 Saves in Loss

CHESTERTOWN, MD -- Visiting Franklin & Marshall College defeated host Washington College, 3-0, in a Centennial Conference women's soccer game today on Kibler Field at Roy Kirby, Jr. Stadium. The Diplomats improved to 7-5-1 overall and 2-5 in conference play with the win, while the Shorewomen slipped to 3-9-1 and 0-7.

The only goal of the first half was scored by F&M's Shannon Summers off an assist from Athena Monalokas at 11:50. Kelly Cassels pushed the lead to 2-0 off an assist from Kelsey Tylus at 57:43. Summers rounded out the scoring with her second goal of the game, scoring off an assist from Kathryn Daniels at 65:22.

Robyn Jones played the first 67:21 in goal for F&M, while Erin Roy played the final 22:39 and registered the Diplomats' only save.

Freshman goalkeeper Caroline Grier (Kennett Square, PA/Sanford School, DE) made a career-high 17 saves in the loss for the Shorewomen.

F&M held a 29-3 advantage in shots and an 8-2 edge in corner kicks in the game.

The Shorewomen return to action one week from today with a 1:00 p.m. Centennial Conference game at Muhlenberg.
