2006 CHESTERTOWN, MD -- Visiting Delaware Valley scored the only two goals of the game in the first half to top host Washington College, 2-0, in a non-conference women's soccer game this afternoon on Kibler Field at Roy Kirby, Jr. Stadium. The Aggies improved to 5-11-2 with the win, while the Shorewomen fell to 3-12-1. The Aggies registered the first goal of the game at 7:13 when Christine Del Turco found Elise Dauber on a breakaway. Dauber later sent a corner kick to Emily Perryman, who booted the ball in for the Aggies and pushed the lead to 2-0. Delwaware Valley held a 14-11 advantage in shots in the game. Dauber got off a game-high six shots, while sophomore forward Sarah Yarbrough (Golden, CO/Arvada West) tallied four shots for Washington. Each team recorded four corner kicks. Aggie goalkeeper Emily Joyce and WC freshman goalkeeper Caroline Grier (Kennett Square, PA/Sanford School, DE) made six saves each in the game. The Shorewomen complete their season Saturday with a 4:00 p.m. Centennial Conference game at McDaniel. |
