Fox's First Blanks Griffins, 1-0
Junior's Goal Gets Shorewomen Past Chestnut Hill

PHILADELPHIA, PA -- Junior defender Lindsay Fox (Laurel, MD/Atholton) scored her first collegiate goal to give visiting Washington College a 1-0 win over host Chestnut Hill in a non-conference women's soccer game this afternoon. The Shorewomen improved to 2-1-1 with the win, while the Griffins fell to 2-1-1 with the loss.

Fox scored the only goal of the game on a blast from 25 yards out at the 46:25 mark. Junior midfielder Heather Roberts (Bel Air, MD/Maryvale Prep) picked up her first collegiate assist on Fox's goal.

Freshman goalkeeper Caroline Grier (Kennett Square, PA/Sanford School, DE) made five saves en route to the shutout win for Washington. Krista Deflaviis made four saves for Chestnut Hill. Washington held a 13-12 advantage in shots in the game.

The Shorewomen return to action Saturday with their Centennial Conference opener, a 2:30 p.m. game at Dickinson.
