October 5, 2005 BALTIMORE, MD -- Fifteenth-ranked Johns Hopkins scored a pair of late second-half goals to put away visiting Washington College en route to a 4-0 Centennial Conference women's soccer win tonight at Homewood Field. The Blue Jays moved to 10-1-1 overall and 3-0-1 in conference play with the win, while the Shorewomen slipped to 1-6-1 and 0-3-1. Laurie Baumann scored the only goal of the first half off an assist from Jessi McKenzie at the 26:38 mark. The Blue Jays went up, 2-0, when Kim Lane scored off an assist from Nikkole Haines at 55:28. Baumann added insurance goals at 73:10 and 85:13 off assists from Francesca Peretti and Lisa Irizarry. Hopkins held a 34-2 advantage in shots in the game and a 9-0 edge in corner kicks. Washington freshman goalkeeper Amanda Frushour (Westminster, MD/South Carroll) made eight saves for the Shorewomen. The Shorewomen are back in action Friday with a 7:00 p.m. Centennial Conference game at Gettysburg. |
