7, 2005 GETTYSBURG, PA -- Host Gettysburg College scored twice in the second half to pull away from visiting Washington College en route to a 3-0 Centennial Conference women's soccer victory this evening in a pouring rain at Clark Field. The Bullets (4-6-2, 2-2-1 Centennial) held a 6-1 advantage in shots in the first half and took a 1-0 lead into halftime following a goal by Erin Miller off an assist from Katie Ferraro at 22:44. The score remained 1-0 until the 61:16 mark when Ferraro scored off a pass from Katie Myers to push the lead to two goals. Myers tacked on a goal of her own at 76:33 off an assist from Miller to account for the final margin. Gettysburg held a 17-3 advantage in shots and a 7-1 edge in penalty corners in the game. Washington freshman goalkeeper Amanda Frushour (Westminster, MD/South Carroll) made six saves in the loss. The Shorewomen are back in action Wednesday with a 4:00 p.m. Centennial Conference game at Haverford. |
