Diplomats Defeat Shorewomen, 3-1
McLoughlin Scores Goal for Washington

LANCASTER, PA -- Host Franklin & Marshall recorded a 3-1 Centennial Conference win over visiting Washington College in women's soccer this afternoon in Lancaster, PA. The Diplomats improved to 9-2-1 overall and 4-2 in conference play with the win, while the Shorewomen slipped to 1-9-1 and 0-6-1 with the loss.

Kelly Cassels gave F&M a quick 1-0 lead with a goal off an assist from Shannon Summers just 2:02 into the game. Washington senior defender/midfielder Colleen McLoughlin (West Chester, PA/West Chester East) tied the score off an assist from senior midfielder Stephanie Bradley (Weston, MA/Kimball Union Academy) at 19:42.

The Diplomats took the lead for good when Summers scored off an assist from Amy Cawley at 58:39. Cassels added an insurance goal off an assist from Athena Manolakos at 80:56.

Washington freshman goalkeeper Amanda Frushour (Westminster, MD/South Carroll) made nine saves in the loss, while Robyn Jones made four stops for F&M. The Diplomats held a 13-8 advantage in shots and a 7-1 edge in corner kicks.

Bradley's assist was the 11th of her collegiate career, moving her into a tie for second place all-time at Washington. She also raised her career point total to 37, one away from the school record for career points.

The Shorewomen are back in action Tuesday with a 4:00 p.m. non-conference home game against Rutgers-Newark.
