Dickinson Blanks Shorewomen, 5-0

CHESTERTOWN, MD -- Visiting Dickinson College scored four second-half goals to pull away from host Washington College en route to a 5-0 win in the Centennial Conference women's soccer opener for both schools this afternoon at Shriver Field. The Red Devils improved to 2-1-2 overall with the win, while the Shorewomen fell to 1-3 overall with the loss.

Lisa Nichols scored the only goal of the first half for Dickinson at the 16:10 mark. The Red Devils' four second half goals came in a span of 13:33 in the second half. Courtney Scally, Dana Conroy, Jessica Griggs, and Marta Gidey each scored once for Dickinson in the second half. Nichols had two assists, while Griggs and Emily Pease each recorded one assist.

Dickinson goalkeeper Alanna Schechtman made four saves in the shutout. Freshman goalkeeper Amanda Frushour (Westminster, MD/South Carroll) made nine saves for Washington.

Dickinson held a 26-7 advantage in shots in the game and recorded the only two corner kicks of the contest.

The Shorewomen are back in action Wednesday with a 4:00 p.m. Centennial Conference home game against Ursinus.
