Shorewomen Tie Swarthmore, 2-2
Russell, Amorosi Score Goals

CHESTERTOWN, MD -- Freshman forward/midfielder Megan Russell (Federalsburg, MD/Seaford Christian Academy, DE) and freshman forward Nicole Amorosi (Deptford, NJ/Gloucester Catholic) each scored the first goal of their respective collegiate careers as host Washington College played to a 2-2 double-overtime tie against Swarthmore College in Centennial Conference women's soccer action today at Shriver Field.

Russell put the Shorewomen (1-5-2, 0-2-1 Centennial) on the board just 4:45 into the game when she booted in an unassisted goal. Amorosi gave Washington an early 2-0 lead when she scored a goal that went off of Swarthmore goalkeeper Kristen Traband at 6:12.

The Garnet Tide (3-6-1, 1-2-1) rallied in the second half to tie the score. Sarah Hobbs scored off an assist from Monica Larimar at 74:10 and Danielle Tocchet scored on a penalty kick at 81:23 to force overtime.

Washington senior goalkeeper Jennifer Chapman (Alexandria, VA/St. Stephen's & St. Agnes) made nine saves in the game. Traband played the first half for the Garnet Tide, allowing two goals and making four saves. Rachel Jordan played the final 65 minutes for Swarthmore, making four saves.

Swarthmore held a 27-15 advantage in shots. Each team had four corner kicks.

The Shorewomen return to action Wednesday with a 4:00 p.m. Centennial Conference home game against 20th-ranked Johns Hopkins.
