October 28, 2004 NEWARK, NJ -- Host Rutgers-Newark scored 67 seconds into the game and went on to post a 6-0 win over visiting Washington College in a women's soccer game this evening in Newark, NJ. The Scarlet Raiders finished their season at 10-7-1 with the win, while the Shorewomen fell to 2-11-3 with the loss. Christine Pober booted in the Scarlet Raiders' first goal at the 1:07 mark. Rutgers-Newark led, 2-0, at halftime, but scored two goals in the first 3:02 of the second half to go up, 4-0. Pober finished with two goals and one assist in the game, while Marie Cassels had one goal and two assists and Sarah Wilson tallied one goal and one assist. Junior midfielder Stephanie Bradley (Weston, MA/Kimball Union Academy) and junior midfielder/forward Laura Mozzer (Tolland, CT/Tolland) took a team-high two shots each for Washington. Rutgers-Newark held a 20-8 advantage in shots and a 6-1 edge in corner kicks. The Shorewomen will play their final game of the 2004 season when they travel to McDaniel for a 12:00 p.m. Centennial Conference contest.
