Mozzer Breaks Record in Romp
Junior Scores Four in 9-0 WAC Win

GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA -- Junior midfielder/forward Laura Mozzer (Tolland, CT/Tolland) scored a school-record four goals as the Washington College women's soccer team cruised to a 9-0 victory over Mount St. Mary (NY) this afternoon at the Gwynedd Mercy Days Inn/Puma Classic. The Shorewomen (1-1) scored seven of their nine goals in the game in the second half.

Mozzer scored twice in the first half, once unassisted and once off an assist from junior midfielder Stephanie Bradley (Weston, MA/Kimball Union Academy), to give Washington a 2-0 lead at halftime. Mozzer's third and fourth goals of the game were also the final two goals of the game. Her third came off an assist from sophomore midfielder Christine Chop (Asan, Guam/Guam) at 71:52 and her school-record fourth goal of the game came off an assist from junior forward/midfielder Katie Dulany (Mt. Airy, MD/South Carroll) at 78:22. The previous school record of three goals in game was set on four occasions, most recently by Bradley in a win over Notre Dame (MD) last season.

Bradley finished with two goals and one assist in today's victory, while Dulany tallied the first goal and first assist of her collegiate career. Sophomore forward Kimberly Kann (Shady Side, MD/Southern) and senior forward/midfielder Lynn Pistone (Hammonton, NJ/St. Joseph's) each scored one goal. Freshman forward Nicole Amorosi (Deptford, NJ/Gloucester Catholic) and freshman forward/midfielder Megan Russell (Federalsburg, MD/Seaford Christian Academy, DE) each tallied their first collegiate assist. Senior midfielder Carly Hankins (Pedricktown, NJ/Penns Grove) also added one assist.

The Shorewomen outshot Mount St. Mary, 33-0, and held a 7-0 advantage in corner kicks. Washington freshman goalkeeper Lauren Perkins (Glassboro, NJ/Glassboro) notched a shutout in her first collegiate start.

The Shorewomen complete play at the Days Inn/Puma Classic tomorrow, taking on host Gwynedd-Mercy at 1:00 p.m.
