September 5, 2004 GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA -- Host Gwynedd-Mercy College scored both goals in the first half of play en route to a 2-0 win over visiting Washington College in women's soccer action at the Days Inn/Puma Classic this afternoon in Gwynedd Valley, PA. The Griffins remaining undefeated with the win, moving to 3-0 on the season, while the Shorewomen slipped to 1-2 this year with the loss. Megan Wood gave the Griffins a 1-0 lead at 27:24 with an unassisted goal and Dana Landis followed with an unassisted goal of her own at 29:47. Gwynedd-Mercy goalkeeper Maria Neville made one save in the shutout win. Washington senior goalkeeperJennifer Chapman (Alexandria, VA/St. Stephen's & St. Agnes) played the first half, making one save and allowing two goals. Freshman goalkeeper Lauren Perkins (Glassboro, NJ/Glassboro) took over in the second half, making five saves and allowing no goals. The Shorewomen are back in action Wednesday with a 4:30 p.m. game at Rutgers-Newark.
