October 16, 2004 CHESTERTOWN, MD -- Visiting Franklin & Marshall College scored two first-half goals to defeat host Washington College, 2-0, in a Centennial Conference women's soccer game this afternoon at Shriver Field. The Diplomats improved to 5-8 overall and 2-5 in conference play with the win, while the Shorewomen slipped to 1-9-2 and 0-6-1 with the loss. Amanda Zambrano gave the Diplomats a 1-0 lead at the 9:23 mark when she scored off an assist from Jamie Pirko. Karen Pigott tacked on F&M's second goal when she booted in a loose ball at 28:47. F&M goalkeeper Melissa Ruff made one save in the shutout. Washington senior goalkeeper Jennifer Chapman (Alexandria, VA/St. Stephen's & St. Agnes) made nine saves for the Shorewomen.
