October 20, 2004 CHESTERTOWN, MD -- Freshman forward/midfielder Megan Russell (Federalsburg, MD/Seaford Christian Academy, DE) scored both goals to give host Washington College a 2-0 win over visiting Chestnut Hill college in a non-conference women's soccer game this afternoon at Shriver Field. The Shorewomen improved to 2-9-2 on the season with the win, while the Griffins fell to 3-8. Russell's first goal came at the 14:57 mark off an assist from sophomore forward Kimberly Kann (Shady Side, MD/Southern). She added another goal in the second half, tallying an unassisted marker at 63:59. Washington senior goalkeeper Jennifer Chapman (Alexandria, VA/St. Stephen's & St. Agnes) and freshman goalkeeper Lauren Perkins (Glassboro, NJ/Glassboro) combined for the shutout win. Chapman played the first 83:38 and made two saves, while Perkins played the final 6:22 of the game and made one. Kelly Evans made 10 saves in goal for the Griffins. The Shorewomen held a 22-3 advantage in shots and a 6-2 edge in corner kicks. The Shorewomen are back in action Saturday with a 1:00 p.m. Centennial Conference game at Muhlenberg.
