October 26, 2004 CHESTERTOWN, MD -- Freshman forward/midfielder Megan Russell (Federalsburg, MD/Seaford Christian Academy, DE) scored one goal and assisted on another as host Washington College played to a 2-2 double-overtime tie with visiting Bryn Mawr in a Centennial Conference women's soccer game this afternoon at Shriver Field. Russell assisted on the game's first goal, which was scored by Washington senior midfielder Carly Hankins (Pedricktown, NJ/Penns Grove) at the 47:53 mark. Bryn Mawr (3-11-2, 0-8-1 Centennial) tied the score at 1-1 when Michelle Corder sent a pass ahead to Aneesa Akbar-Uqdah, who raced down the field on a breakaway and fired in a goal at 52:35. The Owls briefly took the lead at 63:41 as Wallis Romzek scored after receiving a cross inside the box from Shelley Starzyk. Russell tied the score for good when she blasted in a goal from near the top of the box at 68:52. Washington senior goalkeeper Jennifer Chapman (Alexandria, VA/St. Stephen's & St. Agnes) made 13 saves, while Bryn Mawr's Lauren Trembath tallied 11. The Shorewomen (2-10-3, 0-7-2) outshot the Owls, 27-22, and held a 7-2 advantage in corner kicks. The Shorewomen's next game will be a 7:00 p.m. non-conference game at Rutgers-Newark on Thursday.
