30, 2003 CHESTERTOWN, MD -- The Washington College women's soccer team slipped to 4-4 overall and 0-2 in Centennial Conference play this season with a 2-0 loss to visiting Ursinus College this afternoon at Shriver Field. The Bears improved to 7-2-2 overall and 3-1 in conference play with the win. Lauren Washam put Ursinus up 1-0 when she scored on a direct kick at 8:13. The Bears added a late insurance goal at 82:37 when Lauren Talty scored an unassisted marker. Junior goalie Jennifer Chapman (Alexandria, VA/St. Stephen's & St. Agnes) made seven saves in net for Washington. Cara Goldberg made one save for Ursinus en route to the shutout. Ursinus held a 16-3 advantage in shots and a 9-1 edge in cornerkicks. The Shorewomen will travel to Swarthmore Saturday for a 1:00 p.m. Centennial Conference game.
