30, 2003 ASHLAND, VA -- The Washington College women's soccer team dropped its season opener this afternoon, falling to host Randolph-Macon, 5-0. The Shorewomen are back in action Wednesday with their home opener, a 4:30 p.m. game against Notre Dame (MD). The Yellow Jackets got goals from five different players. Beth Blendell, Leanna Van Osten, and Katie Wohlford scored in the first half, while Marylynn Haden and Rachel McLoughlin scored in the second. WC junior Jennifer Chapman (Alexandria, VA/St. Stephen's & St. Agnes) nine saves in the loss, while Randolph-Macon's Liz Lombardo made four saves en route to the shutout. RMC held a 24-4 advantage in shots and a 6-1 edge in corner kicks. Box Score
