24, 2003 CHESTERTOWN, MD -- The Washington College women's soccer team fell to visiting Dickinson College, 4-1, this afternoon at Shriver Field in the Centennial Conference opener for both teams. The Shorewomen slipped to 3-3 overall with the loss, while the Red Devils improved to 5-2-1. All five goals were scored in the second half. Kathleen Flaherty got things started for Dickinson at 50:27 with a goal off an assist from Erin Parkyn. At 55:50, the Red Devils made it 2-0 when Alyssa Carlow scored off an assist from Suzy Ugliarolo. The Shorewomen got on the board at 64:40 when senior defender Allison LaMarca (Lindenhurst, NY/Lindenhurst) scored off a direct kick. Dickinson pushed the lead back to two at 76:58 on a goal by Jessica Griggs and then added another goal at 83:11 when Bryn Hagmann scored. Junior goalie Jennifer Chapman (Alexandria, VA/St. Stephen's & St. Agnes) made a career high 22 saves for the Shorewomen, who were outshot, 42-5, in the game. Dickinson also held a 9-0 advantage in corner kicks. The Shorewomen return to action Saturday with a 12:00 non-conference home game against Cabrini.
