WC Closes Out 2002 Season
Shorewomen Fall to McDaniel, 3-0

WESTMINSTER, MD -- The Washington College Shorewomen finished their 2002 season today with a 3-0 Centennial Conference loss at McDaniel College. The Shorewomen end the season 8-11 overall and 2-8 in conference play.

McDaniel's Nikki Varoutsas scored the only goal of the first half, at 11:30, and then scored again in the second to give the Green Terror a 2-0 lead at the 56:56 mark. Megan Matson added the final goal at 74:45.

WC sophomore Jennifer Chapman (Alexandria, VA/St. Stephen's & St. Agnes) made nine saves in goal for the Shorewomen to finish with exactly 100 on the season.

The Shorewomen's eight wins this season tied a school record set in 2000. The 2002 campaign was the fifth season of varsity women's soccer at Washington College.
