25, 2002 CHESTERTOWN, MD -- The Washington College women's soccer team improved to 5-4 overall and 1-1 in the Centennial Conference with a 2-0 win over visiting Bryn Mawr (3-5-1, 0-2) this afternoon at Shriver Field. WC sophomore goalkeeper Jennifer Chapman (Alexandria, VA/St. Stephen's & St. Agnes) made four saves while recording a shutout in her first collegiate start. Junior forward Meghan Hartzell (Williamstown, NJ/Williamstown), the Shorewomen's leading scorer, accounted for both goals. Hartzell scored an unassisted goal at the 9:19 mark and then scored off a deflected shot by junior midfielder Jen Cox (Monkton, MD/Hereford) at 12:03. Bryn Mawr goalkeeper Sarah Caldwell helped keep the Mawrters in the contest by making 22 saves. The Shorewomen held a 25-6 advantage in shots and a 7-0 margin in corner kicks. The Shorewomen are back in action Saturday with a 7:00 p.m. game at Alfred. Box Score
