28, 2002 ALFRED, NY -- Freshman forward Laura Mozzer (Tolland, CT/Tolland) scored the only goal the Washington College Shorewomen would need today in posting a 1-0 victory over host Alfred University. The Shorewomen improved to 6-4 with the win, while the Saxons slipped to 0-8-1 with the loss. Mozzer scored at the 24:53 mark to give WC a lead that would stand up throughout the remainder of the contest. Each team got off five shots in the first half, but the Shorewomen held the Saxons without a shot in the second period, while taking four of their own. WC sophomore goalkeeper Jennifer Chapman (Alexandria, VA/St. Stephen's & St. Agnes) made five saves to record her second career shutout in as many career starts. She was in goal for the Shorewomen's 2-0 win over Bryn Mawr Wednesday. The back-to-back shutouts are the first for WC since the squad posted three shutout wins in a row early in the 2000 season. The Shorewomen return to action Tuesday with a 4:00 p.m. Centennial Conference game at Ursinus. Box Score
