13, 2001 CHESTERTOWN, MD -- The Washington College women's soccer team saw its record slip to 0-3-2 on the season this afternoon with a 5-1 home loss to York (PA). The Spartans scored four times in the first half and improved to 3-2 overall. The Spartans' five goals were scored by five different players. Senior forward Christy Moyer (Allentown, PA/Salisbury) knocked in what proved to be the game-winner 6:04 into the contest off an assist from sophomore midfielder Jodi Redcay (Mahnton, PA/Twin Valley). Sophomore forward Maria Chesnavage (Stewartstown, PA/Kennard-Dale) tallied her team-leading third goal of the year during the game. Washington's goal was scored by senior midfielder Kerry O'Keefe (Sacramento, CA/El Camino Real). Both junior midfielder/forward Sarah Polhamus (Pitman, NJ/Pitman) and junior defender/midfielder Kelly McClure (Tucson, AZ/Sabino) assisted on O'Keefe's goal. York held an 8-5 advantage in corner kicks and a 17-8 edge in shots on goal. The Shorewomen open play in the Centennial Conference Saturday with a 1:00 p.m. game against Dickinson at Shriver Field.
