Shorewomen Drop Home Opener
Higdon Makes Eight Saves in Loss

CHESTERTOWN, MD -- The Washington College women's soccer team fell to Stevens Tech, 1-0, in its home opener at Shriver Field this afternoon. The Shorewomen dropped to 0-2-2 on the season, while the Ducks improved to 3-0.

The game's only goal was scored by Stevens Tech freshman back Milia George (Massapequa Park, NY/Massapequa) off an assist from junior forward Jolyn Litcher (Myrtle Beach, SC/Socastee) at the 18:39 mark.

Washington sophomore goalkeeper Mandy Higdon (Catonsville, MD/Catonsville) made eight saves in the game, while sophomore back Sara Mackeverican (Allentown, PA/Parkland) tallied three shots on goal. Duck sophomore goalkeeper Rommy Guevara (Kearny, NJ/Kearny) made three saves in the shutout.

Stevens Tech held an 8-4 advantage in corner kicks and an 11-6 edge in shots on goal.

The Shorewomen return to action Thursday with a 4:00 home game against York (PA).
