20, 2001 CHESTERTOWN, MD -- The Washington College women's soccer team dropped a Centennial Conference game to visiting Muhlenberg College this afternoon by a 3-1 final. The Mules (15-2 overall, 9-0 Centennial Conference) scored all three of their goals in the first half against the Shorewomen (3-12-2, 1-8). Muhlenberg's first goal came at the 15:00 mark when sophomore midfielder Courtney Levine (Mahwah, NJ/Mahwah) bounced a shot off the crossbar and into the goal. Sophomore midfielder Sharon Seggel (Morristown, NJ/Morristown), who assisted on Levine's goal, added a score of her own at 29:56. The Mules' final goal came at 31:37 when freshman forward Rebecca Armstrong (Quakertown, PA/Quakertown Community) scored off a pass from freshman back Jen Arrow (Ivyland, PA/Archbishop Wood). The Shorewomen got on the board in the second half when senior midfielder/back Marissa Smithson (Lexington, MD/Great Mills) sent a corner kick to junior midfielder/forward Sarah Polhamus (Pitman, NJ/Pitman), who headed the ball into the goal. The assist was Smithson's first point of the season. The Shorewomen close out the 2001 season with a 4:00 p.m. home game Tuesday against Western Maryland. Box Score
